Redonda lagoon, Los Urabos, Loaves

The town of Miches is a small town located in the province of El Seibo, to the northeast of the Dominican Republic. It is a so-called saltwater lagoon. Redonda lagoon, a nature reserve created in order to preserve the endemic species of plants and animals of the country.

To show its beauty and its charms, This lagoon greets visitors hovering around the area through its mountainous terrain, which provide. A wide panoramic view of this majestic gift of nature.

With one area greater than the 50Kms, 2,1 MTS of depth and a fund with sandy-clay loam sediments, generated by river currents. It is the only lagoon that communicates with the sea through the Caño Celedonio. It runs along much of the coastal plains between the Atlantic Ocean and the Cordillera Oriental. In its waters you can find crabs and fish Snook, Shad and tilapia. As well as also zaramagullon, coot Red-billed, Heron, King congo and duck pescuecilargo, as members of its avifauna.

The main economic activity of the area is fishing, which is done. Through boats or cayucos,  powered by oars from the hands of the fishermen.

This place is simply beautiful, ideal for inclusion in the next holiday to the East of the country.
